Fishing near Delamford.

There is a wide variety of fishing types and locations close to Delamford, including lochs, reservoirs, rivers, and the sea. We have access to a large stretch of the River Girvan, approximately 11 miles over both banks, flowing through Kilkerran and Bargany estates. We also have a 1.25 mile beat on the River Stinchar at Kirklands. We offer full days out to any of these streches of water including lunch, evening meal and all transport to and from the rivers, Delamford or directly from Prestwick airport if you wish. This will allow you to maximise your fishing time if you intend on having just a weekend break, and also allows us to cater for larger fishing parties.

In all of these locations you may fish for Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout. On the Kilkerran stretch, of approximately 2 miles, you may use fly, bait or spinners. This stretch is best fished while the river is in spate and if you wish you may subscribe to our email alerts using the form on the left. This will allow us to send you updates on the condition of the river, and when the fishing should be at its best. The fishing season here runs from late May through to early October and a days fishing will cost £25. A packed lunch can be provided at £5 per head and transport from Delamford can also be arranged for £5 per person.

The Bargany stretch, also covering approximately 2 miles, has 4 beats and allows 2 rods per beat. Fishing here is normally fly only unless the water rises above the spinning mark, when spinning will be allowed. The fishing here will cost £30 for a day and again, a packed lunch and transport from Delamford are £5 each per person.

The Kirklands beat on the River Stinchar is approximately 1.25 miles long and you may fish here using fly, bait or spinners. It is worth mentioning here too that in 2009 a 30lb salmon was caught on a neighbouring beat to here. Fishing price here is £25 for the day, £5 for a packed lunch and £5 transport from Delamford each. A discount for large parties will be given on transport costs.
